From her early childhood in the farming communities of Shropshire and Worcestershire, Joy has always painted, both in oil and watercolour. When, later, she went to work at the BBC in London, many a picture was sold in the club after work.

She has always been interested in the natural world and has lived and worked in Cornwall for many years. The rugged coastline of this beautiful area and the sometimes mystic quality of moorland trees and woodland have long been her inspiration. Although Joy has produced fine work in several mediums including ceramics, she finds that watercolour suits her artistic expression the best of all.
